COMPETENCIES PROVIDE US SELF CONFIDENCE


Honorable adjudicator, and all of the member of this house. First of all I beat Assalamu’alaikum Wr. Wb and good morning for the other religion. Firstly a would like to introduce my self, my name is Dewi Kusumanigrum but you can call me just dewi, in this opportunity I would like to delivered my presentation with the title COMPETENCIES PROVIDE US SELF CONFIDENT,. In my presentation I will explain about competencies for secretary that makes self confidents.
1.   KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge is very important for secretary to help finishing all of the duties. There are two kinds of knowledge:
a.   General Knowledge
General knowledge includes up to date’s news, about something that is up to date in the world.
b.   Special Knowledge
Special knowledge includes management, office organizing, banking, business, etc
2.   SKILL
a.   Having secretarial skill
Secretary should have good skill which dealing with his/ her duties, with good skill of course secretary can finish all the duties as well as possible. There are many kinds of secretarial skill that should be had by secretary, they are :
·         Handling telephone
·         Handling guest
·         Doing correspondence
·         Handling the process of incoming and out going letter
·         Filling system
·         Handling the leader’s itinerary
·         Handling the leader’s trip. Etc


b.   Having good communication
Communication is very important because secretary’s duties not far with communication. Good communication supported by having good capability of language. Not only Indonesian language but also foreign languages. Ones of them is English, with good English secretary will be easier to communicate with colleagues from foreign countries making English correspondence and operate the computer.
c.   Having capability in IT (Information Technology)
The development has changed the work mechanism in a company. So secretary should have capability to follow the development of IT because IT can help secretary to finish his/ her work effectively and efficiently.
3.  PERSONALITY
Good personality is also includes in competencies for secretary. The kind of personality that should be had by secretary, are:
a.   Have good attitude in finishing the work, such as:
·         Honest
·         Polite
·         Wise
·         Have responsibility
b.   Have good performance
Performance is important too because it support the success in finishing the work. With good performance automatically will appear the good first impression herself.

Conclusion: with having and mastering these competencies of course we as secretary will be confidence and it will support to finish our job excellently.
